TRAVEL NOTICE: I will be out of the country until January 2019 attending baking and pastry school in Paris! Unfortunately, I will not be able to fulfill orders until 2019. Follow my blog here.
It all started with a heap of love, a dash of creativity, and a pinch of courage.
I was only 5 years old when I knew I wanted to be a baker forever. I was begging my grandmother to let me help her make a cake and as she reluctantly instructed me how to use the handheld mixer, I was too giddy to pay attention. I stood awaiting her command to begin the mixing. All was blissful as I saw the eggs, cocoa powder, flour, sugar, milk and butter fold over itself and transform into a ribbony cake batter. Per my grandmother's instructions I carefully lifted the mixer out of the batter and....there it was! I was brought back down to earth by my grandmother's shrieks as a globs of cake batter flew across the room. If only I had remembered her specifically saying to turn OFF the mixer before taking it out of the bowl maybe, just maybe, I would have had more cake to eat when it was done...
Fast forward 16 years!
Currently, I'm beginning a new adventure in my life by taking the road less traveled of the typical soon to be college graduate; starting my baking business. I'm focusing on providing my customers with the best experience possible in service, taste and design. When I say, "Cake is Life", I really mean it. In my free time you'll find me sketching up new designs, watching Food Network, flipping through decorating magazines, baking, decorating and taste testing!
